Law Enforcement Technology Announces Innovation Awards

Cygnus Public Safety Group, made up of Law Enforcement Technology, Law Enforcement Product News, Officer.com and Enforcement Expo announced the Innovation Awards winners at a reception Sunday night in Boston during the annual conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police meeting and expo.
Editors collected 182 entries from 145 companies in categories of communications, computers, corrections, forensics, hazmat, less-lethal, surveillance, software, tactical, traffic enforcement, training, uniforms and body armor, vehicles, vehicle accessories, weapons, and weapon accessories.
Law Enforcement Technology Editor Ronnie Garrett said the point was to recognize the companies creating innovative products designed to make officers more efficient, effective and safe.
The entries were judged on their innovativeness, productivity, quality, contribution, ease of use and maintainability by a panel of eight active law enforcement professionals in several different backgrounds from firearms trainer to forensics expert, patrol officer and chief.
